Remote Maritime MODBUS Control

COVID-era restrictions made routine vessel visits impossible, but flow meters still needed monitoring, servicing, and control. The answer was to bring the instruments ashore digitally.

A bespoke system built on the trusted MODBUS protocol integrates directly with Yokogawa flowmeters, enabling seamless, real-time remote monitoring and control of liquids and gases onboard, checks, maintenance tasks, and operations handled from anywhere.

Twenty-six vessels came online through the remote system, dramatically cutting the cost and risk of flying technicians to ships. In 2020 it proved the remote-operations model the maritime industry now takes for granted.
